Vincent Harrison Chukwuemeka a serial Facebook hacker has been sentenced to one-year imprisonment without the option of a bail,by Justice Agatha Okeke of the Federal High court Uyo, for impersonation and obtaining by false pretence to the sum of N407,000 (Four Hundred and Seven Thousand Naira).
In the statement released by antigraft agency, EFCC, Chukwuemeka was said to have falsely showcased himself as Lisa, while he claimed to be a representative of Facebook and WhatsApp from the United States of America(USA),through the African Head Office. Under the disguise, he allegedly scammed one Felicity Felix Ekpezu of N407,000 as he (Chukwuemeka) deceived her (Ekpezu) to make her believe that she had won $971 (Nine Hundred and Seventy-One US Dollars) and an Iphone 6s,in which she would need to pay N407, 000 to receive it
According to what was stated, he was prosecuted on a one-count charge bordering on impersonation and obtaining by false pretence to the sum of N407, 000. He actually claimed “not guilty” to the charge, but as the trial went on he changed his plea to guilty and he refunded the victim the money he fraudulently collected from him.
The federal court at the resumed sitting today, sentenced him to one-year imprisonment beginning from the date of his arrest without an option of bail.
